ENPROTEC Thickener Range Capability
Technically Engineered
Innovative Dual WellTM Feedwell Design
ENPROTEC utilises advanced CFD modelling to optimise our thickeners’ performance, ensuring efficient slurry distribution and improved settling. Our innovative Dual Well™ feedwell design enhances shear conditions and flocculation, reducing short-circuiting and improving overflow clarity. By leveraging CFD simulations, we refine feedwell geometry to maximise efficiency and process stability, delivering superior operational outcomes for our clients. This cutting-edge approach underscores our commitment to innovation in solid-liquid separation technology.
Dual WellTM Feedwell Design and Flocculation
The feedwell is crucial for effective flocculation and even slurry distribution into the thickener. At ENPROTEC, we utilise advanced feedwell designs that promote optimal mixing and agglomeration of particles. Our trademarked designs ensure that the slurry is evenly distributed, minimising turbulence and promoting the formation of large, stable, agglomerated particles. The result is improved settling rates and higher underflow densities. By optimising the flocculant dosing and distribution, we enhance the overall efficiency of the thickening process.
Tank Design and Rake Mechanism
The design and material of the thickener tank, as well as the rake mechanism, are essential for durability and performance. ENPROTEC uses robust construction materials such as high-strength steel and specialised coatings that resist abrasion and corrosion. Our tank designs feature optimised geometries that enhance the settling process, while our rake mechanisms are engineered to provide consistent and efficient solids removal. The rake arms are equipped with torque monitoring and adjustable speed controls to ensure reliable operation and prevent overloading. Our thickeners make use of bolted tank designs that result in ease of installation and ensure tank failures are minimised. This is achieved due to welding and coating, which are done in a controlled environment within a world class manufacturing facility.
Automation and Control Systems
Modern thickeners at ENPROTEC are equipped with advanced automation and control systems to optimise performance. These systems use PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) technology to automate key processes such as flocculant addition, rake speed adjustment, feed solids concentration, and underflow density control. Real-time monitoring of parameters like bed level, solids concentration, and torque enables dynamic adjustments to maintain optimal thickening conditions. Features such as remote monitoring and data logging provide valuable insights for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Underflow and Overflow Management
Efficient management of both the underflow and overflow streams is critical for maximising the thickener’s performance. ENPROTEC’s thickeners incorporate advanced underflow pumping systems that ensure consistent, high-density underflow discharge. Our overflow management systems are designed to minimise the carryover of suspended solids, enhancing the clarity of the overflow water.
Feed Dilution
ENPROTEC’s innovative Feed Dilution technology enhances thickener performance by optimizing feed density, improving flocculation efficiency, and eliminating hindered settling within the feedwell, which promotes effective settling within the thickener. By precisely controlling the feedwell environment, our solution reduces shear, enhances settling rates, and minimizes overflow turbidity. This results in lower reagent consumption, increased throughput, and improved water recovery—key for sustainable operations.
Optimised Flocculant Control
The ENPROTEC flocculant make up and dosing plant allows adequate hydration, precise mixing and dosing of flocculants at various dosing points, ensuring optimal particle agglomeration. This enables and improves settling rates and enhances the thickening process.
Improved Tailings Management
Our equipment enhances tailings management by producing a denser underflow, minimising water losses, and pre-densifying filter feed slurry, resulting in optimised downstream processes and reduced environmental impact.
Enhanced Process Control
We offer precise control over the concentration of solids in the feed stream to ensure hindered settling within the feed well is minimised. We also utilise instrumentation to control the thickener underflow solids concentration. Incorporating effective feed dilution is crucial in ensuring the optimised settling performance of this technology. Further, through the use of a continuous underflow density monitoring system, better management of downstream processes, clarified overflow, reduced water losses and improved overall efficiency of the minerals processing plant is achieved.
